The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards is not only a competition to find the best Scotch Pie but awards are also given to a number of different types of pies and savouries including the Macaroni Pie, which was added to the 2017 competition as a new category.
The competition is open to registered food businesses. Each company is permitted one entry for the Scotch Pie, Sausage Roll, Bridie, Macaroni, Apple Pie categories and up to five savoury products including hand held Steak Pie, Hot or Cold Savoury, Haggis Savoury and Vegetarian Savoury. The competition also encompasses the Best Football Pie or Savoury award.
Products are anonymously judged by a panel of expert and independent judges, with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond awards presented at an awards lunch held in January.
